School Librarian

The school librarian works with both students and teachers to facilitate access to information in a wide variety of formats. Instruct students and teachers on how to acquire, evaluate and use information and the technology needed in this process. Introduces children and young adults to literature and other resources to broaden their horizons.

The school librarian develops, promotes and implements a program that will help prepare students to be effective users of ideas and information, a lifelong skill. Candidates must be experienced in working in a multi-media library.

• A Bachelor degree in Library Science or similar from ONE OF THE FOLLOWING COUNTRIES: UK, US, CA, AU, NZ, ZA, Scandinavian countries

• Master Degree in Library Science an asset

• Must be Native English speaker or near

• Must have excellent skills in communicating with students and able to deal effectively with student behaviour issues

• Minimum 3 years experience as a school librarian

• Minimum 2 years experience as Head Librarian

• Is culturally sensitive, dependable, flexible and able to work in a continuously changing environment

Competitive TAX FREE salary from KD 700 to 1175 depending on experience and qualifications

One - Two Bedroom flat depending on Marital status and family size

OR a Housing Allowance of KD 125 monthly and candidates find their own accommodation (rent is not expensive in Kuwait)

Annual Economy Class round trip air ticket for employee ONLY. Baggage allowance of (KD) 50 granted upon first time of arrival and permanent departure from Kuwait at the end of service

In addition to official holidays, paid leave is allocated as per school calendar/breaks. Minimum 30 work days per year

50% discount for 1 Dependent School fees provided they are attending same school as employee

Fees will be paid for employees only once at destination. Employee is responsible for fees for dependents

For each full year of service, school will pay 1 month Basic Salary per year worked according to Labour Law of the country

1-2 year contract - renewable
