Senior Accountant

Job Purpose

Responsible for supervising the accounts team in their day-to-day work and assigning tasks to them. Also prepares financial reports and works on special assignments dealing with accounting matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support to the Chief Accountant in the development of annual budget for the department.
• Support execution and achievements of department objectives and action plans.
• Prepare and update monthly checklist to ensure the accounts team effectively and efficiently complete all month end tasks and reporting.
• Ensure accounts payable transactions to suppliers and employees are in line with company policies.
• Executing and performing any and all tasks are assigned to him by the Finance Manager.
• Supervise and assist in posting financial transactions and the efficient management of new and existing supplier accounts.
• Check supporting documentation for prime products and rental invoices for accuracy before releasing them into the system.
• Check system control accounts and ensure outstanding issues are resolved in a timely manner.
• Follow up claims from foreign suppliers & control reconciliation of all payables and major supplier accounts.
• Ensure assets, employee and company insurance and warranties are valid and in line with ongoing business requirements.
• Changes in computer system may be required in coordination with the Senior Management.
• Prepare various financial reports as required by management.
• Provide support to internal and external auditors and resolve queries in a professional and timely manner.
• Manage and monitor departmental activities in the absence of Chief Accountant.
