Job Description

Purpose


The Cost Accounting Analyst is primarily responsible for supporting the day-to-day project and cost accounting activities of the AbbVie Biologics Research Center in Worcester MA. Reporting to the Cost Accounting Manager, this role will interface with leadership across functions including Production, Planning & Logistics, Purchasing, R&D, and External Commercial Manufacturing.


Responsibilities


  • Support the day-to-day business activities which include project accounting, and account analysis and reporting, and setup/ update/ maintenance of inventory.
  • Perform month-end processes which include but not limited to account reconciliations, booking monthly/quarterly journal entries, analyzing P&L variances. 
  • Partner with key stakeholders cross functionally to monitor, track, and manage cost center budgets.
  • Help support key business reporting cycles (LBE, Updates, LRP, and Annual Plan).
  • Assist in the annual material standard setting process.
  • Help develop and create Power BI reports required for business continuity.

The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively, work with high data volume with high attention to detail and accuracy, possess strong analytical skills, possess strong presentation skills, and manage multiple concurring time sensitive deliverables across a highly matrixed organization. The individual will also possess strong business partnership skills and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders. Ultimately, a successful candidate will display a balance of hard and soft skills, including the ability to problem solve and respond quickly to changing business needs.


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics required.
  • Minimum 3-5 year’s related accounting and finance experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Experience in SAP preferred.
  • Experience in Power BI is a plus.
