Job description
Wood is looking to appoint a Site Safety Officer on the Etango Mine construction site. The site is 35km from Swakopmund. The project is for the construction of an 8mtpa Uranium mine. Civil and Earthworks are currently ongoing on site and Wood requires a Site Safety Officer to assist the current team. The position will report to the HSEC Manager.
NOTE ONLY NAMIBIAN APPLICANTS WILL BE CONSIDERED.
- Provide onsite support in a functional role to the HSEC Manager.
- Provide onsite support to Construction Manager and Project Manager.
- Provide HSEC support to site managers and supervisors.
- Ensure task specific Risk Assessments are done by the contractors and implemented.
- Ensure contractors adhere to Safe Work Procedures.
- Ensure implementation of, and compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and other required legislation
- Ensure legal compliance of all contractors on site.
- Conduct HSEC audits as specified per schedule
- Conduct daily site inspection in support of HSEC Manager
- Promote behavioral base safety in Hazard Elimination and Recognition Training (HEART).
