Paystack helps businesses in Africa get paid by anyone, from anywhere in the world. Thousands of businesses of all sizes use our modern payments platform, including MTN, Smile Communications, GIGM, AXA Mansard Insurance, and many others.
Within a little over 5 years, our close-knit team now processes over 50% of all online payments in Nigeria. Recently, we were acquired by global payments leader Stripe to accelerate online commerce across Africa.
At Paystack, we believe that we will win by recruiting talented people and giving them the space, resources, and support to do the best work of their lives. We hire the most capable people, treat them with genuine respect, and give them the means to succeed. And we’d love your help!
Paystack works with some of the most ambitious and innovative businesses on the continent, and we don’t just help them accept payments. We help them grow. The Business Development Partner (BDP) role sits at the heart of that mission.
As a BDP, you’ll be at the frontline of Paystack’s growth engine. You’ll source and close new business, build enduring relationships with founders and business leaders, and help your portfolio of merchants unlock the full value of our platform, whether they’re a fast-scaling fintech or a beloved local retail brand. You’ll be assigned to a specific vertical (such as fintech, insurance, health, education, e-commerce, healthcare, airlines, etc.), and you’ll take full ownership of growth and retention within that space.
But this isn’t a typical sales role. BDPs at Paystack are trusted advisors to their merchants. You’ll be in the room for the strategic decisions that define how a business moves. You’ll analyse payments performance, spot drop-offs or failure points, and drive changes that boost revenue or reduce churn. You’ll champion your merchants internally and make sure Paystack is building what matters most to them.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need to close deals with confidence, build trust fast, and operate like an owner, constantly pushing for better outcomes for your merchants and your team. The best BDPs are endlessly curious about sectors, business models, customer behavior, and product potential. They can think long-term while acting fast. And they’re deeply motivated by the impact of helping African businesses succeed.
This is a fast-paced, externally facing role that blends sales, growth strategy, product thinking, and relationship management. You’ll work cross-functionally with some of the smartest people in the company, from product to engineering to risk, all in service of building the payments infrastructure that powers modern African commerce.
Looking for full ownership and a front-row seat to African commerce? Let’s talk.
Kindly submit your application before the 10th of August, 2025
