Job description

We are looking for an ambitious, hands-on Senior Construction Manager who can step in immediately and rapidly revamp, stabilize, and accelerate an active construction project. This role is suited to a decisive leader who thrives under pressure, can take ownership from day one, and has a proven track record of turning around projects, re-establishing control, and driving delivery at pace.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in re-energizing site execution, aligning contractors and consultants, and ensuring the project is brought back on track in terms of programme, quality, cost, and governance.

Key Responsibilities

Project Revamp & Acceleration

  • Take immediate ownership of ongoing construction works and rapidly assess project status, risks, and bottlenecks.
  • Implement corrective strategies to recover lost time, improve productivity, and stabilize site operations.
  • Re-sequence works, optimize resources, and drive accelerated delivery where required.

Construction & Site Leadership

  • Lead all on-site construction activities across multiple packages and contractors.
  • Enforce disciplined execution in line with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
  • Ensure effective coordination between civil, structural, MEP, and finishing trades.

Programme, Cost & Commercial Control

  • Take control of construction schedules and short-term look-ahead programmes.
  • Manage variations, claims, and change orders in coordination with commercial teams.
  • Support cost control and cash-flow discipline while protecting the project’s commercial position.

Quality, Handover & Standards

  • Re-establish strong quality control systems and inspection regimes.
  • Lead snagging, testing, commissioning, and phased handover activities.
  • Ensure delivery meets high standards appropriate for a premium development.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Reinforce a zero-tolerance safety culture across site.
  • Ensure full compliance with HSE regulations, authority requirements, and best practices.
  • Lead incident reviews and implement immediate corrective actions where required.

Stakeholder & Consultant Management

  • Act as the primary interface with consultants, authorities, and client representatives.
  • Chair site coordination meetings and drive fast, clear decision-making.
  • Expedite approvals of shop drawings, materials, and method statements.

Reporting & Governance

  • Provide concise, accurate reporting on progress, risks, and recovery actions.
  • Escalate critical issues early with practical mitigation plans.
  • Support project audits, governance, and compliance processes.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, motivate, and realign site teams to deliver under accelerated timelines.
  • Set clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards.
  • Mentor construction managers, engineers, and supervisors.
