Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Site Engineer with a minimum of 8 years of experience to join our dynamic construction team in Lagos, Nigeria. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing electrical site works from conception through to completion, ensuring that all aspects of the project are executed efficiently and effectively. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical systems (Power, lighting, cable trays, ELV ...etc.), project management methodologies, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The successful applicant will be instrumental in driving innovation and ensuring that projects meet established timelines and budgets.

  • Track actual progress against the planned schedule, adjust plans proactively in response to delays, site conditions, or design changes and give report updates to the Project Manager and stakeholders regularly on these.
  • Coordinate MEP activities with civil, structural, and architectural teams to ensure seamless integration.
  • Conduct regular site meetings to review progress, address challenges, and communicate priorities.
  • Report regularly to the Project Manager on work progress, risks, and solutions.
  • Maintain records of invoices, delivery notes, work completion certificates and payment vouchers.
  • Examine payment applications submitted by contractors and casual workers; verify quantities, preset milestones and contractual terms are met before approval of follow-up payments.
  • Collaborate with procurement department to confirm delivery and receipt of materials and work with finance/account department to process payments according to approved budgets and schedule.
  • Develop and implement site execution plans for all MEP disciplines.
  • Ensure compliance with design specifications, local regulations, and international standards.
  • Resolve on-site technical issues and provide engineering solutions promptly.
  • Supervise the selection and installation of MEP equipment and systems.
  • Supervise, mentor, and guide site engineers, junior engineers, and trade supervisors.
  • Conducting in-house MEP coordination meetings with the power, Elv and mechanical teams to integrate activities, resolve typical MEP coordination clashes, and establish the sequence of work among the teams.
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures for MEP works.
  • Follow up inspection requests, tests, and commissioning activities to ensure systems operate as designed.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards on site.
  • Maintain project documentation, including progress reports, quality reports and as-built drawings.
  • Oversee final system testing, commissioning and certification of MEP systems.
