Job description

As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for managing a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring the consistent preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in line with Crowne Plaza and IHG brand standards. You will support the Sous Chef and Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations while maintaining food safety, hygiene, and cost control.


YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:


  • Take full responsibility for the assigned kitchen section (e.g., hot kitchen, cold kitchen, pastry, banquets, or specialty outlet).
  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to approved recipes, menus, and brand standards.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation at all times.
  • Coordinate with other kitchen sections to ensure smooth service operations.
  • Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene and safety in compliance with HACCP and local regulations.
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of food items (FIFO).
  • Monitor portion control and minimize food waste.
  • Supervise and guide Commis Chefs and Kitchen Assistants within the section.
  • Assist in training new team members and developing culinary skills.
  • Promote teamwork, discipline, and a positive kitchen culture.
  • Assist in stock control, requisitions, and inventory management for the assigned section.
  • Support cost control initiatives to achieve food cost targets.
  • Report equipment maintenance issues promptly.
  • Support IHG brand standards and culinary initiatives.
  • Contribute to menu development, promotions, and special events.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction by responding promptly to special requests and feedback.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:


  • Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Demi Chef de Partie experience in a hotel or high-volume restaurant.
  • Experience within an international hotel brand is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and kitchen operations.
  • Strong culinary and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Team leadership and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
