The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for conducting laboratory tests, analyzing samples, maintaining equipment, documenting results, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory activities in accordance with industry standards and safety protocols. The ideal candidate must possess hands-on experience in laboratory operations, sample preparation, quality control testing, and compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests on samples such as materials, chemicals, biological specimens, or environmental elements, depending on project requirements.
Prepare, label, and process samples for testing, ensuring proper handling and storage as per standard laboratory procedures.
Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments, equipment, and analytical tools to ensure precision.
Record and interpret test results, maintaining accurate documentation and generating analytical reports.
Conduct quality control checks and ensure test results meet regulatory and operational standards.
Support senior laboratory personnel in experimental procedures, research activities, and process improvements.
Adhere to laboratory safety policies, chemical handling guidelines, PPE usage, and waste disposal regulations.
Monitor inventory levels of laboratory supplies, chemicals, and reagents, and raise requisitions when required.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate repairs or maintenance as necessary.
Ensure compliance with ISO, OSHA, and other relevant laboratory quality and safety standards.
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Laboratory Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 4 years of experience as a laboratory technician in industrial, clinical, chemical, or research laboratories.
Proven experience in laboratory testing procedures, equipment handling, and data reporting.
Proficiency in laboratory instrumentation, testing methodologies, and sample processing techniques.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret test results with high accuracy.
Practical understanding of laboratory safety protocols, quality control standards, and regulatory compliance.
Familiarity with laboratory software, LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems), and digital documentation.
Effective communication skills for report writing and technical coordination.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Time management and multitasking abilities to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
