The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the secure, compliant, and reliable operation of the organization’s database platforms across cloud and on-premises environments.
The role focuses on AWS RDS Aurora MySQL, enterprise databases, and regulatory-driven operations, with strong ownership of database reports and SBP compliance evidence.
Job Responsibilities: Database Administration & Operations Administer and maintain cloud-based and on-premises database platforms across Production and Non-Production environments, including AWS RDS Aurora MySQL and enterprise databases deployed on Windows and Linux platforms such as Oracle and other key relational databases.
Ensure high availability, replication, backup, restore validation, and disaster recovery preparedness.
Perform database patching, upgrades, configuration management, performance tuning, and capacity forecasting.
Support application teams during releases, schema changes, and production cutovers.
Database Reports & SBP Compliance Prepare and maintain database operational and compliance reports.
Produce database access control and privilege review reports with approval traceability.
Maintain change, patching, and maintenance aligned with internal SOPs and SBP expectations.
Provide incident and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports for database related issues.
Apply statistical and predictive analytics to database and business data, leveraging basic machine learning for trend analysis and forecasting.
Proficient in data analysis and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik) to create interactive, tailored, and actionable reports for stakeholders and regulatory compliance.
Linux & Automation Perform hands-on administration on Linux based systems supporting database tooling.
Automate report generation, log collection, and backup verification using scripts and scheduled jobs.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator, managing cloud and/or on-premises databases, preferably in the financial sector.
Hands-on experience with AWS RDS Aurora MySQL, enterprise databases (Oracle, SQL Server, or similar), and database management across Windows and Linux platforms.
Strong expertise in database backup, restore, replication, high availability, and disaster recovery.
Experience with database performance tuning, capacity planning, and query optimization.
Familiarity with data pipelines, Kafka or other event streaming platforms, and integration with application workloads.
Strong understanding of database security, user access controls, encryption, and compliance requirements, along with incident management, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), reporting, and SOP adherence for database operations.
