About the job Manager HSE

Job Purpose:


To provide requisite support and guidance to establish and maintain safe & healthy work environment with collective efforts of all the stakeholders and advise to meet the legal and other applicable requirements.


Key responsibilities:


  • Accountable for planning, organizing, directing, operating and evaluating the occupational health, safety and Environment management system.
  • Manage and Lead HSE Department toward achieving the company objectives.
  • Set departmental objectives, develop their achievement plans and monitor their execution process.
  • Support management in setting and reviewing the annual HSE Objectives for all operation, technical and support departments
  • Assist in planning and implementing new and existing HSE procedures
  • Prepare the departments budget and submit for finalization / approval.
  • Develop mechanism for incident reporting and investigation. Also ensure that a follow-up mechanism is in place for the required actions till completion of the same.
  • Review the control measures and coordinate with concerned
    departments to ensure efficacy to minimize the incidents ratio.
  • Ensure that Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments are being carried out and necessary controls are being advised.
  • Lead the process of identifying hazards in the workplace, risks monitoring and impacts evaluation and monitor that corrective and controlling actions are taken.
  • Ensure that emergency response plan is in place and communicated to all concerned. Also ensure that emergency preparedness drills / activities are being executed on a regular basis.
  • Ensure that necessary monitoring and testing of Fire Fighting Apparatus
    are being carried out on regular basis.
  • Device mechanism to monitor that the safeties of equipment are in
    working condition and take necessary actions against any findings or
    shortcomings, if identified.
  • Constantly maintain an appropriate level of awareness, knowledge and
    preparedness to maintain safe working environment to sustain positive HSE culture and behaviour.
  • Perform monitoring to verify the compliance of legal and other applicable requirements and ensure that Environmental Monitoring activities are being carried out on set intervals.
  • Support the enforcement and compliance of Environment requirements
    and services in adherence to Environment Management Systems.
  • To monitor that the CCTV function is working in accordance with the
    defined requirements.
  • Plan and conduct Safety Committee Meetings, prepare minutes and
    follow-up the action items.
  • Participate in various HSE meetings as per as the meetings plan/ schedule
  • Prepare and present HSE reports for management coordination meetings.
  • Monitoring HSE Performance and submitting HSE performance reports to higher management to support business choices.
  • Ensure that the basic arrangements are in place regarding first aid,
    ambulance service, etc. 

Qualifications and experience required:


  • Masters degree/Bachelors degree in a relevant field, preferably an engineering discipline
    or environment, or transport and logistics management.
  • Approved certificate courses, i.e., NEBOSH, IOSH Safety, HSE / Fire
    diploma from a certified source.
  • Minimum 5-8 years in the relevant role and field.
