JOB CONTEXT & PURPOSE
The Project Accountant's responsibilities include managing and analysing project finances within ASI's systems in
accordance with client guidelines, setting up project/workstream structures, processing transaction data, conducting
month-end reporting and project analysis, and leading internal and external audits.
Additionally, the role involves ensuring the accuracy of project data within the central finance systems, reviewing the
monthly billing process, supporting project managers in raising sales invoices, and competently completing financial
duties.

KEY TASKS
PROGRAM FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
When and if needed, to support PMs to construct project structures within ASI Operating System to best meet stakeholder needs.
Where and when necessary, assist Project Managers with project amendments and in managing Purchase Orders (POs)
Support Project Managers with monthly sales invoices.
Review of monthly billing transactions including ensuring all financial transactions comply with client’s requirements, with appropriate feedback mechanism.
Where a project does not have a dedicated finance officer, act as the lead contact for any external and internal project audits.
Responsible for ensuring strict adherence to finance and client deadlines for their own project portfolio.
Reconciliation of project performance as needed including monthly reporting on allocated project portfolio WIP and margin performance.
Support BD team with project costing to ensure all recoverable costs have been captured in bid proposal.
Post Award review – collaborate with PMs to review and conduct a thorough examination and analysis of the final award details to understand the terms, conditions, and expectations stipulated in the contract, such as allowable and disallowable costs.
Post Project review with Project Manager to ensure all costs have been captured and accounted for to ensure smooth project closure.
Support Project Managers with budgeting and forecasting process.
Business Partner with Program Delivery and Finance teams.
Support Project Managers with any other ad-hoc financial tasks, or reporting requirements that may arise during the project lifecycle.
CORPORATE FINANCIAL SUPPORT
Where required, on an exception basis to expedite urgent payments or as workload capacity demands, support upload of accounts payable, including compliance with relevant expenditure and payment controls..
Participate in internal audits and assurances
Support compliance matters with banking partners and government, and other related day to day matters
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Accountable for their own portfolio Budget and Forecast oversight.
Accountable for their own portfolio project financial reporting.
Accountable for adherence to relevant bookkeeping standards, client requirements and company policies.
Accountable for holding trouble-shooting training sessions for PMs / local staff as identified with PDs.
Accountable for their own portfolio project data accuracy and documenting transactions by providing backups.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate would possess certificate in bookkeeping / studying towards accountancy qualification / a degree in accounting from a renowned institute.
Should have at least 05 years of experience of project accounting, ideally with an international consultancy firm.
Has experience with various ERP and Accounting systems.
Profiecient in Microsoft Excel.
Proven track record in a corporate, highly professional environment.
Exposure of senior stakeholder engagement.
Understanding of the overall role in a client funded project, finance functions in an international development company and the ability to handle sensitive situations with confidentiality.
