Starting in 2000, the University expanded to Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, United Kingdom and Afghanistan. AKU began life as a health-sciences university.


The Department of Anaesthesiology at Aga Khan University is committed to providing clinical excellence in perioperative care as well as the training of future anaesthesiologists. Our team of trained and well-experienced anesthesiologists aims to provide best possible patient care not only in the operation theatres but also beyond it. With current 35 clinical faculty our department is one of the biggest Anaesthesia department in country, our faculty is also involved in undergraduate and postgraduate education and our programs are recognized at national and international level.

Aga Khan University invites application for the position of Senior Assistant in the Department of Anaesthesiology.


Responsibilities:


You will be responsible to:


  • ensure smooth and efficient day to day operations of Administrative activities
  • provide all administrative and secretarial support to the Administration and Nursing Division in running and managing day to day operations
  • draft and type correspondence, arrange meetings, manage documents, handle appointments and telephone calls and liaison with other stakeholders for setting up travel and accommodation arrangements
  • provide administrative support to other faculty members as required
  • organize and maintain files and departmental records to ensure proper information storage and retrieval
  • prepare monthly reports of faculty CME
  • manage and compile data of faculty
  • issue and maintain and provide backup of pagers to residents
  • execute other assignments as delegated from time to time
  • arrange faculty lunch at OR premises.

Requirements


You should have:


  • a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree/ Master’s degree is preferable
  • preferably 1-2 years of experience
  • good communication and interpersonal skills
  • proficiency in use of computer especially MS Office
  • excellent organizational capabilities and ability to handle diverse set of tasks
  • fluency in written and spoken English.
