Job Responsibilities
• Knowledge on GIS and Telecom Domain
• Good hands-on experience in Smallworld PNI Product and developing custom applications, Data Modeling, Data Migration, Debugging and fixing issues etc.
• Good knowledge in PNI product upgrade
• GE Smallworld products (PNI, FTTH) and their customizations.
o Support for custom applications/reports
o Creation of new Specs and Templates on need basis.
o Support for Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
o Support on GSS web services.
o Smallworld Admin activities (Merge & Post, Job failure cases, Super files creation, VMDS database compression and License management)
* Develop, customize, and extend GE Smallworld applications using Magik programming language, focusing on PNI and FTTH modules.
* Design and implement solutions for integrating Smallworld with other enterprise systems.
* Analyze client requirements and translate them into technical specifications and development plans.
* Perform code reviews, debugging, and testing to ensure high-quality and robust solutions.
* Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Smallworld applications.
* Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and other developers to deliver comprehensive solutions.
* Document technical designs, development processes, and user guides.
* Stay up-to-date with the latest GE Smallworld technologies and industry best practices.
Job Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience as a Magik Developer.
* Strong proficiency in Magik programming language.
* Demonstrable experience with GE Smallworld GIS platform, particularly with Physical Network Inventory (PNI) and Fiber to the Home (FTTH) modules.
* Experience with Smallworld customization and configuration.
* Familiarity with database concepts, preferably with Oracle and SQL.
* Understanding of telecommunications network infrastructure and concepts.
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus.
