Your Team's Impact Buy Side Engineering is responsible for FactSet’s industry leading Portfolio, Risk, Quantitative, and Fixed Income products. These products are used by thousands of Asset Managers around the world every day to assist with investment decisions, analysis of performance, risk management, and the presentation of results. Analytical Product Engineering’s product space represents a high growth opportunity for FactSet.
What You'll Do:-Executes software development projects with high quality design and architecture with a focus on performance, scalability, and stability. Ability to independently handle complex software development tasks all the way to release management processes for their respective applications. Engages with software development teams, business analyst and stakeholders at different stages of Software Development Life Cycle to ensure that projects are completed on time with quality. Provides guidance to junior developers on the software development best practices.
- Contribute new features, fixes, and refactors to the services owned by the team.
- Perform code reviews and coach engineers with respect to best practices.
- Think and communicate critically about architecture, design, and best practices.
- Collaborate with other engineers and Product Developers in a Scrum Agile environment using Jira and Confluence
- Estimate task sizes and regularly communicate progress in daily standups and biweekly Scrum meetings.
- Coordinate with other teams across offices and departments
What We're Looking For:-- B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 3-8 years of software engineering experience required in JAVA
- Extensive backend development experience required. Full stack experience highly preferred
- Web development experience desired.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases
- Experience building and deploying production level services.
- AWS Cloud development experience highly preferred.
- Experience with Kubernetes or other similar containers
- Strong technical, analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS:- Experience with Agile environments using Jira and Confluence (or similar tools)
- Motivated self-starter with creative thinking and a strong desire to learn.
- Attention to detail along with the ability to see the big picture.
- Mentor and assist other junior engineers on the team.
- Self-disciplined and strong work ethic
