Responsibilities:
Supervise and validate sub-system selection for HVAC, Brakes, Doors, Propulsion, Auxiliary Power Supply, ensuring that our Catalog product and catalog process is fully applied in projects with appropriate tools. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as project management, procurement, and quality assurance), contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and much more."
Evaluating and selecting appropriate sub-systems based on project specifications
Ensuring compliance with engineering principles and company standards
Applying rigorous problem-solving methodologies to resolve any issues
Monitoring sub-system performance and recommending improvements
Leveraging knowledge of structural engineering principles and structural analysis
Utilizing familiarity with electrical principles and electronic packaging for electro-mechanical products
Applying expertise in sheet metal and welded fabrications
Managing product change and configuration control of engineering documentation
Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as project management, procurement, and quality assurance
Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and outcomes.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
10+ years of experience in a system engineering or design role, preferably within the railway, automotive, or aerospace industries. Familiarity with railway-specific processes like validation and verification activities.
Experience or understanding of supervising and validating sub-system selection, 7 - 10 years of experience in product development, preferably in the rail transportation industry.
Knowledge of structural engineering principles and familiarity with structural analysis. ,
Familiarity with electrical principles, electronic packaging, sheet metal, and welded fabrications.
Capacity for leadership and teamwork in a collaborative environment. ,
Experience with product change management and configuration control of engineering documentation.
A mindset for innovation and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles, power systems, and the system engineering process. Familiarity with specific railway sub-systems is a plus
Knowledge of relevant tools, such as MS Office and DOORs for requirements management.
Strong communication skills, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Candidate should have at least 7 - 10 years hands on experience (not overall) using Catia V5
Have extensive design experience in one or more industry verticals
