Job description

The Developer Platform team, part of the Splunk Platform organization, builds robust and resilient platform infrastructure that enables Splunk engineers to develop, test, and deploy enterprise software at scale. Weoperatein a fast‑paced environment andleveragemodern cloud-nativetechnologiesandAI-assisted developer tooling, to continuously improve productivity and reliability.

Requirements



  • Strong experience with CI/CD tooling, cloud infrastructure, containers, and virtualization. Experience building and scaling secure services across on‑prem and public cloud environments is a plus.
    You will work with technologies such as Kubernetes (EKS), Docker, AWS services, GitLab, GitHub, and Terraform.




  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and RESTful APIs.




  • Experience with observability and reliability tooling, supporting data-driven decision-making and operational excellence.




  • Ability to work with multiple programming languages, with a strong focus on Goand Python. These are our primary development languages.




  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field, or 3+ years of relevant industry experience.




  • Strong desireto learn, adapt, and grow in a continuously evolving technical environment.




  • Ownership mindset and passion for building reliable platforms and delivering high-quality solutions for internal customers.





Responsibilities



  • Contribute to engineering efforts end-to-end, from design through implementation, addressing challenges related to scalability, reliability, and resiliency.




  • Own and support services used by internal engineering teams, acting as a reliable point of contact for platform-related needs.




  • Design, build, and improve CI/CD infrastructure and pipelines, helping teams debug,optimize, and scale their workflows.




  • Develop tools and services that enable engineers to build, test, and ship software quickly and securely.




  • Mentor early-career engineers byprovidingtechnical guidance and sharing best engineering practices.




  • Build an excellent developer experience for teams using our platformsand infrastructure.




  • Enable self-service access for engineering teams to deploy, scale, and manage infrastructure.




  • Participate in a business-hours on-call rotation with escalation, supporting services owned by the team (with potential expansion in the future).
