You will join a collaborative engineering organization that builds software guided by Cisco’s Design Thinking Principles, prioritizing simplification, user experience, secure coding, user privacy, and best‑practice development standards. Software engineerspartner closely with design, product management, and cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver solutions that create real value for customers. Your Impact

• Gaina goodunderstanding of our product architecture, usage patterns, and real-world deployment scenarios to develop solutions that will bring value to our customers

  
  
  

• Collaborate with other team members to craft and build durable solutions,keeping scalability and performance considerations as a high priority

  
  
  

• Lead projectsend-to-endand drivetheircompletion with minimal direction

  
  
  

• Keep product quality top of mind with automated testing

  
  
  

• Become well-versed in Splunk's core technologies as they apply to application development

  
  
  

• Be part of the on-call shift team, up to 20% of time

  
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant industry experience

  
  
  

• Proficiencyin Pythonprogramming

  
  
  

• Working experience withLinux environments and cloud deployments (e.g. AWS), emphasizing standard scalability and securityprocesses

  
  
  

• Experiencein collaborationwith design and engineering teams to plan, develop, and releasehigh qualitysoftware

  
  
  

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in design and development of RESTful services (usingOpenAPIspec)

  
  
  

• Experience with containers (Docker) and understanding of CI/CD deliveryprocesses

  
  
  

• Knowledge of backend development frameworks(e.g.Django)

  
  
  

• Experience with non-relational databases (NoSQL)

  
  
  

• Experience in test-driven development (TDD)

  
  
  

• Working knowledge or willingness to learnweb development (e.g.HTML5/CSS,JavaScript, React.js, Node.js)
