The Assistant Quantity Surveyor in commercial management is to support in various tasks related to cost estimation, cost control, and contractual management within construction projects or other commercial ventures. They assist in gathering and analyzing data, preparing cost estimates, and monitoring project budgets. Additionally, they may assist in preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors. Their primary goal is to contribute to the efficient and effective management of project costs while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and budgets for construction projects or commercial ventures.
Conduct quantity take-offs and measurements from construction drawings and specifications.
Assist in the procurement process by preparing tender documents, analyzing bids, and evaluating subcontractor proposals.
Monitor project costs and expenditures, identifying potential cost overruns or variances, and proposing corrective actions.
Assist in the preparation and negotiation of contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
Collaborate with project teams to track project progress, assess project risks, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Conduct research and analysis on construction materials, labor rates, and market trends to support cost estimation and budgeting efforts.
Assist in the management of contractual issues and claims, including documenting changes and variations to contract scope and terms.
Maintain accurate records, documentation, and databases related to cost estimation, budgeting, and contractual management.
Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies
Understanding of quantity surveying principles, including measurement techniques, cost estimation methods, and contract administration procedures.
Familiarity with construction materials, methods, and processes, as well as relevant regulations and standards governing the industry.
Proficiency in numerical analysis and data interpretation to accurately assess project costs, analyze financial data, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Competence in using quantity surveying software, spreadsheet applications, and other relevant software tools for cost estimation, Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients, and to convey complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
Minimum 5 year(s) working experience, 3 year(s) relevant working experience, 2 year (s) GCC is a plus
