About the role
In this role as an Associate Legal Specialist, you would review plan, organise, and accomplish contracting functions, liaising closely with the Legal Specialists in reviewing, analysing, negotiating, and drafting contracts for Qatar Airways.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support contract evaluation, including basic cost or price analysis, select contract source, and assemble contracts.
- Coordinate with other functional activities to accomplish advance planning and ensure adequacy and correctness of contracting approach, lead-time, and specification. Confer with internal/external stakeholders to explain contract requirements, and contractual interpretations.
- Participate in formulating contracting policies and procedures. Analyse policies and procedures necessary to improve contracting process, and customer support. Implement policies based on sound business practices and highest standards of ethical conduct and fiscal responsibility. Work in automated systems essential to enhancing contracting efficiency.
- Ensure contracting system is responsive to the needs and requirements and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Implement internal systems and processes, manual and automated, required to accomplish and monitor the end results.
- Improve quality of contracts to the benefit of airline and group by understanding and modifying certain contractual language and assuring an “all bases covered” work product.
- Identify and mitigate areas of concern affecting the contracts.
- Responsible for all documentation of contract administration/management process.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
About you
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Law
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- PC literate with knowledge of Word/PowerPoint/Excel
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Strong interpersonal and team working skills
Preferred
- Work experience in a law firm or in-house legal environment
- Good knowledge in contract and commercial negotiation relating to service and product agreements
- Strong legal drafting skills
