We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bid & Contracts Manager to lead and oversee the full bid lifecycle for defense programs and projects. In this pivotal role, you will drive the development of compliant, competitive, and compelling proposals in response to government and defense solicitations.


The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in the defense sector, with demonstrated expertise in program/project management, contract negotiation, and bid management. A deep understanding of RFQ/RFP processes is essential.


This role is instrumental in supporting the company’s strategic growth initiatives by ensuring excellence in proposal development, risk management, and stakeholder coordination throughout the bid process.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the bid management process from initial opportunity identification through to submission and contract award.
  • Review and analyze RFPs, RFQs, and other solicitation documents to develop comprehensive bid strategies and proposal plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, legal, finance, supply chain, and program management to gather inputs and prepare high-quality proposals.
  • Develop and manage proposal schedules, compliance matrices, risk assessments, and bid budgets.
  • Ensure all bids and contracts comply with internal governance policies, client requirements, and regulatory standards (e.g., FAR/DFARS, ITAR, export controls).
  • Support price-to-win strategies and contribute to cost estimation, pricing models, and contractual terms negotiations.
  • Manage customer interactions throughout the bid lifecycle, including clarification requests, negotiations, and contract finalization.
  • Maintain accurate records of bid submissions, status updates, and contract deliverables in the company’s bid management systems.


RequirementsRequired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Law, or related field. Master’s degree or PMP certification is a plus.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in defense contracting, program/project management, and bid/proposal management.
  • Proven experience working with government and defense procurement processes (DoD, MoD, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of RFQ/RFP processes and commercial/government contracting principles.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency with proposal tools (e.g., MS Office, SharePoint, Adobe, ERP systems).
