The Cataloguing Engineer is responsible for creating, reviewing, and maintaining standardized material and equipment catalogues in accordance with project, client, and international standards. The role ensures accurate material classification, coding, and data consistency to support procurement, inventory management, maintenance, and asset lifecycle operations.
Develop and maintain material and equipment catalogues using approved classification standards.
Create and validate material master data, descriptions, and technical attributes.
Ensure compliance with cataloguing standards such as ISO, UNSPSC, eCl@ss, or client-specific systems.
Review vendor data, datasheets, and drawings for accurate cataloguing.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, QA/QC, and maintenance teams for data validation.
Eliminate duplicate items and ensure data consistency across ERP and CMMS systems.
Support material coding, classification, and enrichment activities.
Maintain change control and revision history for catalogue data.
Assist in audits, data cleansing, and material standardization initiatives.
Ensure timely delivery of cataloguing activities as per project schedule.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Instrumentation) or relevant discipline.
Minimum 3–7 years of experience in material cataloguing or master data management.
Experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, infrastructure, or industrial projects preferred.
Strong understanding of material classification and coding systems.
Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Maximo, or similar.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and datasheets.
High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Good coordination and communication abilities.
GCC project experience is an advantage.
