The Data Office Director plays a key role in implementing the data strategy defined by the Group Chief Information Officer at the operational level, including managing data governance processes, overseeing data quality initiatives, and coordinating data-related projects.
The role focuses primarily on managing data activities within their designated area of responsibility on the day-to-day operations of the data office or department within a specific business unit or division.
Develop and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure the integrity, security, and quality of data across the organization.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the data office or department, including data acquisition, storage, integration, and analysis.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and priorities, and ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
Manage a team of data professionals, providing leadership, guidance, and support to drive performance and foster a culture of excellence.
Establish and maintain data standards, data dictionaries, and metadata repositories to facilitate data discovery, accessibility, and understanding.
Monitor and evaluate data quality and compliance with regulatory requirements, taking corrective actions as needed to address issues and mitigate risks.
Lead data governance committees or councils to promote awareness of data management principles, address data-related challenges, and drive continuous improvement.
Oversee data-related projects and initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with established standards and requirements.
Collaborate with IT teams to optimize data infrastructure, platforms, and tools to support the organization's data management needs effectively.
Serve as a subject matter expert on data-related matters, providing guidance and advice to senior management, business units, and other stakeholders to inform decision-making and drive business outcomes.
Comprehensive understanding of data management principles, including data governance, data quality, data architecture, and metadata management, is essential.

ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
Minimum 15 year(s) working experience, 10 year(s) in a relevant management/leadership position, 5 year (s) GCC is a plus.
