The Geophysicist is responsible for acquiring, processing, and interpreting geophysical data to evaluate subsurface structures and identify hydrocarbon prospects. The role requires expertise in seismic data analysis, subsurface imaging, and integration of geophysical insights with geological and engineering data to support exploration and development decisions.
Acquire, process, and interpret seismic and other geophysical datasets to define and characterize subsurface opportunities.
Conduct seismic attribute analysis, amplitude-versus-offset (AVO) studies, and velocity modeling.
Integrate seismic, geological, and well data to develop detailed subsurface interpretations.
Support exploration and field development programs by identifying drilling targets and de-risking prospects.
Perform seismic inversion and rock physics analyses to estimate reservoir properties.
Collaborate with geologists, reservoir engineers, and drilling teams to optimize well placement and field development.
Evaluate geophysical data quality and ensure consistency across datasets.
Prepare maps, cross-sections, and reports summarizing subsurface interpretations.
Contribute to regional basin studies and prospect generation initiatives.
Ensure compliance with HSE, quality, and data integrity standards in all geophysical operations.
In-depth understanding of geophysical principles, seismic methods, gravity and magnetics, and subsurface imaging techniques.
Proficiency in geophysical interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom, Hampson-Russell, or similar).
Ability to integrate seismic, geological, and petrophysical data for prospect evaluation and reservoir characterization.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration.
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
Minimum 5 years working experience, 3 years relevant working experience, 2 years GCC experience is a plus.
