The Lead Pipeline Engineer is responsible for overseeing all aspects of pipeline projects with gas compressor stations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies. The role requires extensive knowledge and expertise in pipeline engineering, with a focus on design, construction, and maintenance.
Lead and manage pipeline engineering projects from conceptual design to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Develop pipeline design concepts and specifications, considering factors such as materials, sizes, pressure, flow rates, and environmental impacts.
Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed pipeline projects with gas compressor stations, identifying potential challenges and proposing mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, environmental specialists, regulatory agencies, and contractors, to coordinate project activities and resolve technical issues.
Perform hydraulic analysis and simulations to optimize pipeline performance and efficiency.
Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant codes and standards.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff, fostering their professional development and growth.
Conduct site inspections and audits to monitor construction progress, identify deviations from design specifications, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Stay abreast of industry developments, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to pipeline engineering, and incorporate best practices into project designs and methodologies.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams, to address concerns, solicit feedback, and provide project updates.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD software and other relevant tools.
In-depth knowledge of pipeline design principles, construction methods, and materials.
Demonstrated project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Leadership and team management experience.
Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental stewardship, with a passion for excellence in engineering and operations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel to project sites and work in challenging environments as needed.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
Minimum 8 years working experience, 5 years in a relevant supervisory position, 2 years GCC experience is a plus
