SUMMARY

The Waiter/ Waitress is responsible for providing outstanding service to restaurant guests. This includes presenting menu options, offering recommendations when needed, serving food and beverages, and addressing any guest inquiries.  


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  


  • Greet and seat guests as they enter the restaurant.


  • Present menus, answer questions about menu items, and offer recommendations.


  • Take accurate food and drink orders using a POS system (Micros).


  • Communicates with the kitchen about the orders and being very clear about special wishes of guests.


  • Ensure timely delivery of meals and drinks.


  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with their meal and provide additional assistance as needed.


  • Process payments, issue receipts, and handle cash or card transactions.


  • Keep tables clean and ensure the dining area is tidy at all times.


  • Follow all health & safety, food safety and hygiene regulations and hotel procedures.


  • Keeps track of the stock and supplies in the restaurant and communication where there might be a shortage like linen, glasswork etc.


  • Support with opening and closure procedures. 


  • Takes reservations, in corporation with the supervisor and hostess/host, if necessary, because of special requests of the guest.


  • Monitors operating supplies, equipment and reduces spoilage and wastage successfully.


  • Ensures that Food and Beverage orders are of a consistently good standard and delivered in a timely manner.


  • Any other reasonable duties assigned by hotel management.
