Job Summary
The Accountant Supervisor oversees daily accounting operations, ensuring
compliance with financial regulations and company policies. This role involves
managing loans, taxes, contracts, valuations, and adherence to ZATCA (Zakat, Tax,
and Customs Authority) regulations. The Accountant Supervisor will play a key role
in supporting the Accountant Manager by ensuring the accuracy of financial records,
supervising junior accountants, and improving financial processes.
Skills
Accounting Operations
- Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Supervise and review the work of junior accountants to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Loans and Financing
- Manage the accounting and documentation of loans, including interest calculations and repayment schedules.
- Coordinate with banks and financial institutions to ensure proper recording and reconciliation of loan transactions.
Tax Compliance
- Ensure compliance with ZATCA regulations, including VAT, Zakat, and withholding tax submissions.
- Prepare tax returns and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Stay updated on changes in Saudi tax laws and regulations, implementing necessary updates.
Contract Management
- Review and maintain financial aspects of contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
- Collaborate with legal and procurement teams to evaluate contract-related financial obligations.
- Monitor and report on financial performance metrics related to contracts.
Valuations
- Assist in property, asset, and project valuations by providing financial data and insights.
- Analyze valuation reports and ensure proper documentation of valuation outcomes.
- Ensure alignment of valuations with applicable accounting and financial reporting standards.
Financial Reporting and Compliance
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, P&L statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with Saudi and international accounting standards (e.g.,IFRS).
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate financial data and documentation.
Team Supervision and Development.
- Provide guidance and training to junior accountants to ensure their professional growth and development.
- Assign tasks and monitor team performance to meet departmental goals.
- Conduct performance evaluations and recommend improvements in accounting practices.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or SOCPA are highly preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience in loans, tax compliance, contracts, and valuations is required.
- Familiarity with ZATCA regulations and reporting requirements is essential.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Saudi tax laws, ZATCA regulations, and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS).
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Fluency in Arabic and English is required.
