OverviewAs an AH64E AH6i Electrical Armament Avionics Systems Instructor, you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive training on the intricate electrical, armament, and avionics systems of AH64E and AH-6i helicopters. Through engaging instructional methods, you will impart specialized knowledge to aviation maintenance personnel, ensuring their proficiency in maintaining and troubleshooting these advanced aircraft systems. Your responsibilities will include designing and conducting training sessions, developing instructional materials, and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs. Responsibilities- Ensure all Attack/Scout Battalion, Electrical/Avionics/Armament/Fire Control/Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) maintenance functional activities and procedures are planned, coordinated, integrated, and synchronized to achieve established platform operational readiness (OR) rates IAW contractual requirements.
- Responsible for compliance with established maintenance systems, processes, procedures, and reports that provide immediate situational awareness of platform OR rates.
- Assist the Production Control (PC) Manager to establish daily maintenance operational goals, objectives, and priorities for implementation, in-order to achieve stated OR rates.
- Oversees the daily Electrical/Avionics/Armament/Fire Control/Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) maintenance management of individually assigned aircraft in support of the PC Manager, in conjunction with Aviation Logistics for related platform parts and spares.
- Works within the maintenance quality control processes, procedures, and standards.
- Directs inquires, investigations, and research analysis related to aviation maintenance of the aircraft and supporting maintenance activities to the PC Manager.
- Coordinates daily and weekly maintenance training activities.
- Conducts OJT, schedules training events, reports and collects data using available training management systems.
- Supports the Downed Aircraft Recovery Team (DART) processes and procedures in coordination with the PC Manager.
- Other tasks as directed by the PC Manager and Division Training Manager.
Qualifications- Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in related field is beneficial.
- US Military background with experience in aviation maintenance and logistics.
- Five (5) years’ experience performing as an aircraft electrician on either a UH-60 or AH-64 or AH-6i.
- US Military or civilian technical trainer experience.
- Associate’s Degree preferred.
- Ten (10) years’ experience as an aircraft electrician and military trainer preferred.
- Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications, and Ability Requirements:
- Graduate of a US Military aircraft electrician maintenance course or civilian equivalent training and experience.
- Demonstrated past performance and experience in unit level electrical repairs on the supported aircraft.
- Proficient in the use of computer-hosted interactive technical manuals, aircraft maintenance forms, and other aircraft related documentation.
- Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner.
- Possess a valid US issued driver’s license and passport.
- Successfully pass an overseas deployment physical upon hire.
- Interaction with military personnel, maintenance crews, and logistics teams.
- Work may be performed in hangars, maintenance facilities, or outdoor environments.
- Availability for irregular hours and occasional travel, as required by mission demands.
