The project is a major built environment programme for a mixed-use development aiming to be a global landmark recognized for its unique vision and position as an authentic destination in Riyadh. The community will be a distinct, self-sustaining hub for Riyadh offering several iconic assets. KBR will provide Project Management Consultancy services in project planning, controls, design, logistics and engineering management, and implementation of the development and early works packages.
THE ROLE
Reports to the Project Logistics Director for project management of the logistics elements of the DII Bulk Excavation (BEX) Package. Reports to the Project Senior Construction Manager on technical and construction BEX related matters.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
·Project lead and focal point for project management of the logistics element of the DII Bulk Excavation (BEX) contract.- Oversees the outputs of the Construction Supervision Consultant (CSC) for the BEX contract on logistics activities.
- Co-ordinates and consults with the Client Delivery Team regarding the logistics activities.
- Supports the Project Senior Construction Manager for construction activities on the BEX contract.
- Ensure the Contractors’ logistics management plans are in line with the requirements of the DII Project Functional Logistics Management Plan.
- Chairs the BEX Logistics progress meetings with the Client, CSC and Contractor. Gives direction to the CSC ensuring outstanding actions are closed out by the Contractor via the CSC.
- Reviews CSC outputs and approves logistics management information and reports before submission to the Client.
- Holds regular meetings with the CSC regarding the Contractor’s resource and equipment mobilisation. Follows up with CSC to ensure the Contractor is correctly resourced and always equipped to deliver the BEX contract.
·Monitors and reports on the performance of the CSC and the Contractors, including on QHS&E requirements. DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interface management: Managing the interface meeting with the adjacent stakeholders, especially the infrastructure packages.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with Project Managers, Contractors, Suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless logistics operations.
- Risk Management: Identify potential logistics risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure BEX project continuity.
- Compliance: Ensure all logistics activities comply with local regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
·Team Leadership
: Lead and mentor logistics staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.·Technology Integration
: Implement and manage logistics software and systems to enhance operational efficiency and data accuracy.·Laydown Area Management
: Manage the Laydown Area Access Requests (LAARs) from the BEX Contractor via the CSC. Ensure that the Contractors comply with HSE and Client requirements. Act as the focal point when liaising with DII PMC Site Wide Logistics.· Permit Management
: Manage all necessary permits from the BEX Contractor via the CSC to execute the project.EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
·BSc in either construction management, engineering, logistics, architecture or equivalent.·Minimum 15 years overall relevant experience.·Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.·Minimum 5 years of working experience in Middle East.- Experienced managing Consultants and Contractors successfully.
·Experience in logistics and construction management.- User of MS Office, PowerPoint.
- Fluency in English language both written and spoken.
- Desirable not essential Arabic language skills.
