Your Department:
The Solution Engineering department is responsible to develop a winning commercial proposal, in close cooperation with the Sales Management department during the sales phase, and to successfully implement the as sold total solution with the Project Execution department. The department consists of a wide range of expertise to enable the design and sell a total solution towards customers and to execute these designs when awarded.
Key of the Solution Engineering department is one responsibility to sell and execute a total solution within one team, without critical interfaces to other departments.
Your position:
As Electric Project Engineer you will closely work with Project Leader, Integration Manager, Mechanical and Controls Engineers as a part of a multidisciplinary team of Engineers. You will manage technical solution pertinent to Electrical design and support sales in bid and contract phase. During execution phase you will work towards the successful completion of one or more projects in an international environment.
Tasks and responsibilities:
As Electrical Project Engineer, you have a key role in the total electrical design; from power distribution, right up to preparing the bill of materials for all the required electrical components and ensure that your Supply Chain colleagues can deliver on time as customer requirements. An important aspect of your work will be producing the Control Architecture diagrams, using advanced network technologies such as Industrial Ethernet, and AS-I bus. You will provide the design and drawing sets for the manufacturing of the electrical enclosures and the total cabling specification, from materials right through to the installation drawings and assembly instructions for the installer. It will be your task to make the detailed design and to explain it to the installer and support the installation and commissioning activities (either remote or on-site). Your checklists are used for complete installation, from connection to testing of the last I/O. To make your work even more challenging with the maximum possible technology depth, we use all the functionality of our CAD systems (AutoCAD and EPLAN). We also develop tooling to enable optimal execution of the engineering works.
Your profile:
A technical degree (Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Industrial Automation) at least at bachelor level
Previous experience of material handling domain will be an added advantage
Desired experience level: 8 years and above in Project engineering environment (system integration, solution design, project delivery)
Knowledge of design practices and qualification requirements, systems development lifecycle
Knowledge of the design, installation, diagnostics and troubleshooting of networks such as PROFIBUS, Profinet, Asi bus and Industrial Ethernet.
Very good Electrical knowledge for industrial automation
Knowledge of power distribution systems, power / control system cabinets, Field equipment (sensors and actuators), switchgear and its characteristics for designing electrical system
Knowledge of various electrical standards such IEC, UL etc.
Familiarity with design safety. Able to perform health, safety and risk analysis (HSRA) on component.
Familiarity with CAD tools such as EPLAN P8 and AutoCAD.
Communicating with regular progress reports, aware of Earned Value Management, managing deadlines and milestones
Feeds back lessons learned from the project into product, process and tooling
Has experience of working with Cross Functional, diverse and global teams
Strong analytical skills
Proactive, flexible, pragmatic and hands on attitude.
Ability to adapt to change with ease, capable of multi-tasking and can manage a variety of complicated tasks.
Wiling to go extra miles to develop Electrical Engineering competency in the department.
Excellent verbal and written skills in English.
