About the role:
Provides expertise on the PSM agenda programs to drive development of sustainable process safety culture that meets the company and local regulatory requirements.
You will be responsible to:
- Use extensive experience with planning responses to industry specific emergencies.
- Establish and maintains site PSM policies and guidelines so that they are consistent with company PSM procedures.
- Understand company health, safety, environmental incident investigation techniques and how to implement control procedures.
- Develop, monitors, and establishes clear accountability for performance against specific site process safety goals and objectives.
- Monitor and audits operating unit PSM programs through review of PHAs, serious incident reports and other site PSM systems.
- Assist line management to fulfil l their stated PSM responsibilities and the team is compliant with regulations.
- Carry out safety inspections, ensures that all personnel and contractors comply with relevant safety policies and regulations.
- Promote workplace safety among supervisors and workers communicates safety rules and regulations.
- Participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of plant loss control programs such as incident prevention and process hazard analysis.
Minimum Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or equivalent engineering degree.
Minimum Experience:
- 5 Years or more of experience as Process Safety Engineer.
- Experience with industry working under HCIS jurisdiction.
- Experience of project management in a chemical process is desirable.
- Knowledge of Process Safety Management Principles and Practices and their application to real-world industrial environments. (OSHA PSM 1910.119- Process Safety Management of Highly Hazardous Materials).
- Knowledge of Qualitative/Quantitative Risk analysis (QRA) & Business Risk Analysis (BRA) techniques, preparation, and analysis.
- Expertise in applying root cause analysis in process related incident investigations.
Required Skills:
- HAZOP/SIL/LOPA leader.
- Expert knowledge of process safety Management, engineering and chemical processes and related legislation and standards.
