The first phase of the NAQUA projects was launched in 1982, marking a significant milestone in the Kingdom’s history by positioning Saudi Arabia as a global seafood producer. Today, NAQUA is recognized as one of the largest aquaculture operations of its kind in the world. NAQUA operates Saudi farms strategically located along the Red Sea coast, approximately 180 kilometers south of Jeddah. It is one of the world’s largest fully integrated marine farms, specializing in shrimp and fish production, with a total investment of SAR 4 billion to date. The company follows a development strategy focused on sustainability, adopting environmentally responsible production methods that help preserve the natural ecosystem. With a workforce of over 4,000 employees from 32 different nationalities, NAQUA produces approximately 100,000 tons of marine products annually. NAQUA’s shrimp, fish, and sea cucumber products are exported to around 32 countries worldwide, including Japan, Korea, China, Australia, the United States, as well as several European and Arab countries. Fresh products are also available at major local retailers across the Kingdom.
