Role
The QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) Manager for Magna Logistics is responsible for overseeing and implementing all QHSE policies, procedures, and practices within the Magna Project operations. This role ensures compliance with local, national, and project wide regulations and standards, driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, and environmental performance across all logistics activities.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with the Magna project requirements and industry best practices.
• Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses for all logistics operations, including transport, warehousing, and material handling.
• Lead incident investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive measures.
• Provide safety training and awareness programs for employees and contractors, promoting a culture of safety across the organization.
• Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics, reporting on trends and recommending improvements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
• Managing the Logistics Risk Register
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards and identify areas for improvement for the logistical movements especially focusing on inspection around trailers, trucks as well as ensuring adherence to defined standards.
• Coordinate with cluster managers, traffic managers and contractors to resolve quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare and maintain detailed quality documentation, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and quality control plans. Logistics Operations Support:
• Work closely with logistics managers, Expeditors and road coordinators to ensure QHSE standards are integrated into all logistics planning and execution.
• Develop and implement safe working procedures for the handling and transport of construction materials, equipment, and personnel.
• Oversee the implementation of safety measures for high-risk activities, such as heavy lifting, hazardous material transport, and working at heights.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices, incorporating relevant advancements into the QHSE program.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging employees and contractors to proactively identify and address QHSE issues.
Qualifications: Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in QHSE management within the construction or logistics industry.
• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO 9001/14001/45001 Lead Auditor, or equivalent
