The Material or Procurement Engineer plays a crucial role in the agriculture and crop production sector, focusing on the efficient acquisition and management of materials necessary for production processes. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and strategic planning to ensure that all materials meet quality standards while being cost-effective. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. This role is vital for maintaining the supply chain and supporting the overall operational efficiency of the company.Responsibilities:Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's goals.Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable agreements.Monitor inventory levels and forecast material needs to prevent shortages.Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards in procurement processes.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand material requirements for various projects.Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and pricing.Manage supplier performance and resolve any issues that may arise.Prepare reports and presentations on procurement activities and material costs.Train and mentor junior procurement staff to enhance team capabilities.Preferred Candidate:Civil, agricultural, or landscape architect engineer.10-15 years of experience (preferred inside KSA).Experience with any of PIF (Public Investment Fund) projects.Experience in landscaping projects (material submittals, materials approval, PQCS).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.Proficient in procurement software and tools.
