Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer specializing in water and wastewater projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, review, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems for water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, pipelines, and related infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and review mechanical systems for water and wastewater facilities, including pumps, pipelines, valves, pressure vessels, filtration units, and treatment equipment.
  • Prepare and verify mechanical engineering drawings, P&IDs, equipment schedules, and technical specifications.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations, pump sizing, head-loss analysis, and mechanical equipment selection.
  • Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment such as pumps, blowers, compressors, chemical dosing systems, and mechanical screens.
  • Review and approve shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals from contractors and suppliers.
  • Coordinate with electrical, civil, and instrumentation teams to ensure proper integration of systems.
  • Conduct site inspections and ensure that mechanical works comply with project specifications, codes, and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and support resolution during construction and commissioning phases.
  • Prepare BOQs, technical reports, O&M manuals, and project documentation.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and vendors to resolve technical and design-related issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering within water and wastewater projects.
  • Strong knowledge of pumps, pipelines, valves, mechanical equipment, and water treatment processes.
  • Hands-on experience in installing and commissioning pumping stations, treatment plants, and relevant mechanical systems.
