Job Description

The Procurement Buyer plays a crucial role in the Project & Construction Planning industry, ensuring that all materials and services are acquired in a timely and cost-effective manner. This position requires a strategic thinker who can navigate complex supplier relationships and negotiate favorable terms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing high-quality materials, managing supplier contracts, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The Procurement Buyer will collaborate closely with project managers and other stakeholders to understand project needs and align procurement strategies accordingly.

Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure the best quality and pricing.
  2. Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable agreements.
  3. Monitor market trends and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions.
  4. Coordinate with project managers to understand material requirements and timelines.
  5. Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier communications.
  6. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all procurement activities.
  7. Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with project goals.
  8. Resolve any issues related to supplier performance or material quality.
  9. Conduct regular reviews of supplier contracts to identify opportunities for cost savings.
  10. Provide training and support to junior procurement staff as needed.

  1. Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  2. Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management.
  3. Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  4. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  5. Strong understanding of construction materials and industry standards.
  6. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  7. Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  8. Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
  9. Knowledge of local and international procurement regulations.
