The Procurement Engineer (Civil) is responsible for managing and executing procurement activities related to civil construction materials, equipment, and subcontracted works. The role ensures that all procured items comply with project specifications, budgets, and timelines, while maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting smooth project execution.
Review project specifications, BOQs, and drawings to identify required civil materials and equipment.
Prepare material requisitions (MRs), RFQs, and conduct technical and commercial evaluations in coordination with engineering and site teams.
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with local and international suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and quality materials.
Assess supplier quotations for technical compliance, commercial terms, delivery schedules, and contractual conditions.
Issue purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery in line with project schedules.
Coordinate with site, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure proper material delivery, handling, storage, and inventory control.
Maintain an updated vendor database and develop long-term relationships with reliable suppliers.
Monitor procurement progress and prepare regular procurement status reports for management.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, contractual requirements, and project procedures.
Strong knowledge of civil construction materials and equipment.
Ability to read and interpret BOQs, technical specifications, and construction drawings.
Experience in RFQs, bid analysis, purchase orders, and supplier evaluation.
Understanding of procurement processes, cost control, and supply chain management.
Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP / procurement systems.
Strong negotiation and commercial awareness.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
