Job Title: Resident Engineer – Water & Wastewater Projects

Project Type: Water & Wastewater / Infrastructure / Utilities

Job Summary

The Resident Engineer is responsible for overseeing and supervising the execution of water and wastewater infrastructure projects on site. The role ensures that construction works are carried out in compliance with contract requirements, approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, and health & safety regulations, while coordinating between the client, consultant, and contractor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Consultant’s on-site representative for water and wastewater projects.
  • Supervise construction activities related to pipelines, pumping stations, reservoirs, treatment plants, and associated infrastructure.
  • Ensure works are executed in accordance with contract documents, approved drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.
  • Manage site teams including inspectors and discipline engineers.
  • Review and approve shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals.
  • Monitor project progress, quality, cost, and schedule in coordination with planning and cost control teams.
  • Conduct site meetings, issue instructions, and prepare progress and technical reports.
  • Review contractors’ claims, variation orders, and extension of time (EOT) requests.
  • Ensure implementation of Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) and HSE requirements.
  • Support testing, commissioning, and project handover activities.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in water & wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience as a Resident Engineer or Senior Site Engineer.
  • Strong knowledge of water and wastewater systems (networks, pumping stations, treatment plants).
