The Resident Engineer plays a crucial role in our AE Maritime department, acting as the Engineer's representative on-site. Under the FIDIC Yellow Book, you will ensure the Contractor's works align with the contract and the Employer's Requirements. Your leadership will guide the Engineer's supervision team, and you will oversee contract administration, monitor progress and quality, and support the evaluation of variations and claims. As the primary on-site liaison with the Client's Representative, you will provide valuable inputs for payment certification and ensure smooth project delivery.



Responsibilities:
  • Represent the Engineer on-site, ensuring compliance with the FIDIC Yellow Book and contract requirements.
  • Lead the Engineer's supervision team and provide guidance and direction.
  • Oversee contract administration, ensuring all processes are followed.
  • Monitor and maintain the highest standards of progress and quality.
  • Support the evaluation and assessment of variations and claims, providing expert advice.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison with the Client's Representative.
  • Provide critical inputs for payment certification, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between teams.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are met on-site, promoting a safe work environment.

Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of overall construction experience.
  • Minimum 5 years in a Resident Engineer role managing contracts under FIDIC forms, ideally Yellow Book.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Middle East projects.
  • Experience delivering projects of comparable scale and complexity.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary supervision teams.
  • Strong experience with weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Ability to lead weekly progress meetings and prepare accurate Minutes of Meeting (MoM).
  • Skilled in drafting responses to contractual correspondence.
  • Arabic language proficiency is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in ports or container terminal projects is a plus.
