The Robotics Operator/Pilot is responsible for operating, controlling, and maintaining robotic systems, including remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) used for underwater, tank, and industrial inspections. The role involves conducting precision navigation, monitoring system performance, capturing inspection data, and ensuring adherence to safety standards. The position requires strong technical expertise, hands-on operational skills, and the ability to troubleshoot robotic platforms in challenging environments.
Operate robotic systems and ROVs for inspection, monitoring, and maintenance tasks in underwater, tank, and confined environments.
Perform pre-operation checks, system calibrations, and ensure the robot is fully functional and safe for deployment.
Navigate robots manually or autonomously, capturing high-quality inspection data, images, and videos.
Conduct real-time system monitoring, diagnose faults, and perform basic troubleshooting or repairs.
Collaborate with engineering, inspection, and safety teams to execute planned robotic operations.
Record inspection findings, prepare technical reports, and document operational logs.
Ensure strict compliance with safety procedures, operational guidelines, and environmental regulations.
Support setup, mobilization, and demobilization of robotic equipment at job sites.
Assist in upgrading, testing, and validating new robotic technologies and controls.
Maintain inventory of robotic tools, spare parts, and consumables required for field work.
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics / Robotics & Automation / Instrumentation Technology.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience operating robotic or remotely operated systems (ROVs).
Experience in underwater or tank inspection preferred.
Hands-on exposure to UT inspection or NDT tools is an added advantage.
Strong technical understanding of robotic systems, sensors, motors, actuators, and control systems.
Proficiency in operating ROVs, robotic crawlers, or remotely controlled inspection devices.
Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, software interfaces, and sensor dashboards.
Good troubleshooting, fault-finding, and mechanical/electrical repair skills.
Familiarity with industrial inspection standards and safety requirements.
Strong communication skills for reporting and coordination with multi-disciplinary teams.
Ability to work in confined spaces, underwater environments, and challenging job site conditions.
High attention to detail with strong analytical and observation abilities.
