The RT Technician is responsible for performing Radiographic Testing (RT) activities on welded joints, castings, forgings, and structural components to detect internal defects and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications. The role requires strict adherence to radiation safety regulations, quality procedures, and international NDT standards while supporting quality control activities across industrial, oil & gas, fabrication, and construction projects.
Perform Radiographic Testing (RT) using X-ray and Gamma ray sources on welds and materials as per approved procedures
Set up radiographic equipment, exposure devices, and accessories in accordance with safety and technical requirements
Interpret radiographic films and digital images to identify discontinuities, defects, and non-conformities
Evaluate test results as per ASME, ASTM, API, ISO, or project-specific standards
Ensure radiation safety compliance, controlled area setup, and use of dosimeters and protective equipment
Prepare accurate RT reports, exposure charts, film interpretation records, and test documentation
Coordinate with QC Engineers, welding inspectors, and site teams during inspection activities
Maintain RT equipment, films, chemicals, and accessories in proper working condition
Follow project QA/QC procedures, client requirements, and site HSE regulations
Support audits, inspections, and quality reviews when required
Diploma / ITI / Technical Certification in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or related engineering discipline
Valid RT Level II Certification (ASNT / PCN / ISO 9712 or equivalent)
Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) certification preferred
Minimum 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience as an RT Technician
Experience in Oil & Gas, fabrication yards, refineries, pipelines, or heavy industries
