We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Contracts Engineer to join our dynamic team in Al Muhammadiyah, Riyadh. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our contracts align with the company’s strategic objectives while managing risks effectively. As a Senior Contracts Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing contract negotiations, drafting, and administration, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead contract planning, drafting, review, and negotiation for procurement and subcontract packages across EPC projects.
Act as the commercial and contractual focal point between Procurement, Project, Legal, Finance, and external parties.
2. Prepare and manage standard and bespoke contract templates (supply, subcontract, framework agreements), ensuring alignment with company risk policies.
3. Conduct pre-award contract risk assessment, identifying key commercial, legal, cashflow, and interface risks.
4. Lead contract clarification, negotiation strategy, and value protection during tender and post-tender phases.
5. Oversee contract administration during execution, including variation, claim, EOT, payment, suspension, and termination matters.
Ensure proper change management and contract correspondence control, maintaining audit-ready records.
6. Support dispute avoidance and resolution, including early warning, claim defensibility, and settlement strategy.
7. Mentor junior contract engineers and support capability building within the procurement team.
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law, or related discipline.
2. 10+ years of contract management experience in EPC, construction, or industrial projects.
3. Strong working knowledge of FIDIC-based contracts, supply & subcontract agreements.
4. Proven experience supporting procurement-led contract negotiation and award.
5. Solid understanding of risk allocation, cashflow impact, guarantees, LDs, bonds, and payment mechanisms.
6. Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
7. Fluent in English (written and spoken).
