Job description

The Store Manager is responsible for the overall management of inventory and stock in the store, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch (issuance) of workshop spare parts, packaging materials, cleaning materials, electrical supplies, etc. This role includes supervising store operations, optimizing inventory levels, maintaining stock accuracy, and managing the Storekeepers.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Inventory Management

  • Develop and maintain accurate inventory records for all categories of materials.
  • Ensure timely ordering and replenishment of stock based on consumption and minimum stock levels.
  • Monitor stock levels and generate reports on stock movement and consumption trends.

2. Store Operations

  • Oversee daily store operations including receipt, storage, issue, and dispatch of materials.
  • Ensure proper labeling, shelving, and categorization of all inventory items.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and security of the store area.

3. Staff Management

  • Supervise Storekeepers and other store personnel.
  • Train and evaluate store team members on inventory systems and safety procedures.
  • Allocate tasks and ensure timely completion of store duties.

4. Documentation and Reporting

  • Ensure all goods received and issued are recorded accurately in ERP systems (i.e., SAP, AX Dynamics, Dynamics 365)
  • Prepare regular reports on stock levels, slow-moving items, and material shortages.
  • Conduct monthly and annual stock audits and reconciliation.

5. Compliance and Safety

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding stock handling.
  • Enforce health and safety regulations in the store.
  • Implement and monitor FIFO (First In First Out) practices for perishable or date-sensitive items.

Somalia joined Eritrea as Sharbatly’s main source of Banana’s, while Oranges arrived from Egypt and Lebanon during the winter season and from Swaziland during the summer season. Apple arrived mostly from Lebanon. Sharbatly became and for several years remained the sole importer of “Chiquita” in Saudi Arabia. A new banana plantation was established in the Awash Valley in Ethiopia in partnership with the Ethiopian Development Bank and a group of banana ;growers from Somalia. Started importing bananas from Philippines. Late 1970’s:The concentration of demand, as the population of the kingdom reached over 10million, transformed Saudi Arabia into a modern, efficient, sophisticated market where Sharbatly was importing fruits from all over the world. 2004:The corporation was transformed into Mohammed Abdallah Sharbatly Co. Today:The company has over ten branches across the kingdom, as well as branches in both Bahrain and Dubai.
