Job Description

What's the role about?


This position is based at GKN Automotive Eskişehir. The Laboratory Engineer will follow and organize daily Quality activities and Quality KPI’s proactively in line with below responsibilities and key experiences. 


What will you do?
 


  • Carrying out Metrological and Metallurgical Investigations and reporting.
  • Managing Quality Laboratory activities.
  • Managing Quality activities for Machining cells.
  • Managing Calibration System for all measurement equipment and gauges.
  • Following and applying GKN Standards and Lesson Learned and Concern Escalation.
  • Following APQP studies for new projects (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, PPAP).
  • Following Induction Hardening Process Standardization and Improvement activities.
  • Attending and following Quality Assurance activities related with laboratory management system including internal and external process and system audits.
  • Carrying out internal and external audits for Induction Hardening processes.
  • Involving Problem Solving activities for Customer and Supplier concerns.
  • Working with the team to establish and monitor Quality Laboratory Metrics and analyze metrics to identify areas of improvement.
  • Supporting supplier visits and audits. 
     

What are we looking for?


  • Degree in Metallurgy / Materials Science Engineering (BSc or MSc).
  • 3+ years experience at Automotive Industry in Quality Department.
  • Experience with common heat treatment processes (scanning & single shot) and analysis methods.
  • Experience with machining process.
  • Experience on CQI-9 Heat Treatment Audit. 
  • Knowledge on NDT applications such as Magnetic Particle Inspection.
  • Knowledge on IATF 16949 requirements.
  • Proficient in reading Technical Drawing.
  • Experience on Quality Core tools (PFMEA, SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP). 
  • Experience on Problem Solving Methods.
  • Experience on Continuous Improvement Methods (e.g. Kaizen, Six Sigma). 
  • Preferably knowledge in welding & forging process.
  • Excellent command of written and verbal English.
  • Effective presentation and skilled at leading meetings.
  • Experience on team working activities.
  • Able to reside in Eskişehir, Turkey.
