The Architectural Engineering Department at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. We seek a highly qualified candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering and a Ph.D. in Architectural Engineering or a closely related discipline. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching, research, and service in support of the Department’s ABET-accredited Architectural Engineering program. The Department places a strong emphasis on computational design, sustainability, and digital construction, and seeks candidates who can advance these areas through research-led teaching, interdisciplinary collaboration, and integrated studio-based learning. The successful candidate is expected to integrate architectural design, engineering analysis, and construction principles within digital workflows, bridging design intent with constructability, building performance, and lifecycle considerations. The candidate should demonstrate proficiency in contemporary digital architectural and engineering practices, including but not limited to: • Computational and parametric design methods • Building Information Modeling (BIM) and digital project delivery • Building performance simulation (energy, daylighting, thermal comfort, environmental analysis) • Digital construction technologies and constructability analysis • Sustainable, resilient, and net-zero building systems • Digital Twins, smart buildings, and data-driven design and operation • Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality (VR/AR/MR) for design, construction, and education The successful candidate will contribute to curriculum development, support continuous improvement processes aligned with ABET requirements, and collaborate across disciplines to strengthen the Department’s teaching and research mission. Responsibilities • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, including basic, advanced, and integrated architectural engineering design studios • Integrate digital technologies, sustainability, and construction considerations into teaching and studio instruction • Develop and maintain an active, externally funded research program • Publish research in high-impact, peer-reviewed international journals • Supervise undergraduate and graduate student research • Contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation activities • Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities


Minimum Qualifications:


• Ph.D. in Architectural Engineering or a closely related field from an internationally recognized institution • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering • Strong research record with publications in reputable international journals • Demonstrated proficiency in digital architectural and engineering tools • Knowledge of construction systems, materials, methods, and constructability within an Architectural Engineering context • Ability to teach and communicate effectively in English Recent Ph.D. graduates are encouraged to apply; preference will be given to candidates with relevant teaching or professional experience.

• Strong focus on computational design, sustainability, and digital construction • Demonstrated experience teaching integrated or advanced design studios • Research addressing the interface between design, construction, and building performance • Experience with BIM-enabled coordination, digital construction, or smart building technologies • Professional practice experience with a portfolio demonstrating design and digital excellence • Proven ability to secure externally funded research involving undergraduate and graduate students • Experience with interdisciplinary research and collaboration • Familiarity with ABET-accredited program requirements and outcomes-based education
