CNC Setup Technician

Location: Dubai, UAE

The CNC Setup Technician will be responsible for the complete setup, preparation, and commissioning of CNC milling and turning machines to ensure accurate, efficient, and high-quality production. The role requires hands-on expertise in machine setup, tooling, fixture alignment, and blueprint interpretation for multi-axis CNC machines. The technician will work closely with production, programming, and quality teams to ensure smooth operations and adherence to machining standards.

• Perform complete machine setup for CNC milling and turning operations, including job loading, fixture alignment, and tool setup.
  

  
  

• Set up and operate the following CNC machines:
  

  
  

  • Doosan DNM 750 Milling Machine (4-axis)
    

    
    

  • Doosan PUMA 2100LY Turning Machine
    

    
    

  • Haas 750 Milling Machine (5-axis)
    

    
    

• Interpret and work accurately from engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  

  
  

• Load and verify CNC programs, conduct dry runs, and ensure machine readiness before production.
  

  
  

• Select appropriate cutting tools, tool holders, fixtures, and work offsets based on job requirements.
  

  
  

• Measure and inspect first-off components using precision measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy.
  

  
  

• Make necessary adjustments to machine settings to achieve optimal quality, tolerance, and surface finish.
  

  
  

• Support production teams by troubleshooting setup-related issues and minimizing downtime.
  

  
  

• Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality procedures, and machining best practices.
  

  
  

• Maintain setup documentation, tooling records, and machine setup sheets.
  

  
  

• Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering, CNC Machining, Tool & Die, or a related technical discipline.
  

  
  

• Mandatory hands-on setup experience of 3–5 years in CNC milling and turning machines.
  

  
  

• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings (mandatory).
  

  
  

• Proven expertise in CNC machine setup for 4-axis and 5-axis milling and advanced turning machines.
  

  
  

• Strong knowledge of tooling, fixtures, cutting parameters, and machining processes.
  

  
  

• Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and height gauges.
  

  
  

• Good understanding of CNC machining principles, tolerances, and surface finish requirements.
  

  
  

• Ability to identify and resolve setup and machining issues efficiently.
  

  
  

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  

  
  

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with production and engineering teams.
