Job Description
Typical Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Liberal Arts, etc.
- Potentially an advanced degree (ACCA, master’s degree, etc.)
- 3+ years’ experience in transfer pricing
Job Role and Responsibilities:
- Conducts transfer pricing analyses, including economic/benchmarking analyses, transfer pricing documentation and planning studies, functional analyses, and assisting clients with implementing OECD’s BEPS Action 13 requirements, among other types of projects
- Able to independently conduct benchmarking searches on external databases like Compustat, Orbis, Royalty – Stat, etc.
- Willing to perform other international corporate tax, tax due diligence, tax accounting, VAT, and other tax analyses
- Prepares transfer pricing and tax proposals including writing, coordination, and interacting with clients
- Delivers high quality transfer pricing and tax engagements in a timely manner
- Willing to assist with market building and client development activities
- Willing to travel for client meetings, etc. within or outside the UAE (as required).
- Builds internal and external networks
- Coordinates with other offices in multi-firm engagements and reviews, collates, and prepares inputs for senior management review
- Ensures risk processes are adhered to; consults internally and with the risk team for engagement and or client processes that deviate from the standard
- Completes engagement management tasks such as timesheets, client files, billing, collection, WIP review, payouts to other offices, multi-firm engagement documentation and closure of engagements on the system
- Communicates regularly with the partner / director on client, people, risk and practice management aspects and seeks inputs on all key decisions and issues
Relevant Skills and Behaviors:
- 3+ years’ transfer pricing experience
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Excellent project management skills, including coordinating with multiple member firms, meeting deadlines, working with and coaching associates, etc.
- Basic knowledge and experience in international corporate tax, tax due diligence, tax accounting, VAT, and other tax issues
- Basic experience in business development, client relationship and client management, including preparing action plans for business development and identifying opportunities for cross-selling
- Good risk management knowledge and application including documentation, ability to escalate issues quickly to risk management specialists for resolution, incorporating risk management into work environment such that it is a part of the inherent process of engagement delivery
- Basic to good practice management skills including debtors, timesheets, billing, follow up on recovery with clients
