The Facilities Coordinator will have a significant impact on customer experience. He/She will have the ability to lead and manage External contractors, be on call for emergencies, to handle multiple projects and daily activities, and meet time lines. The Facilities Coordinator will develop plans on how to accomplish engineering departmental goals.
The Facilities Coordinator will be responsible for the leadership/development and coaching of the team. Performance Management will be carried out by the Facilities Coordinator – Maintenance. This role also leads the technical team in providing both a reactive and pro-active maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure within the Fulfillment Center (FC). The role has a direct impact on the site, its productivity and operational success. If equipment is not available or performs badly it minimizes the capacity and throughput of the site.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead, support and mentor the team, ensuring they are working in a safe, standard and efficient manner.
• Work with the team and the wider network to harness the technical expertise available and build solutions.
• Keep the APM (Asset performance management) metrics achieved and raise the bar on all performance and compliance KPIs
• Support the Reliability Engineering Manager as they work with the Site Safety department & Site Leadership to implement, record and audit safety and statutory compliance programs to provide a safe working environment for all staff.
• Implement network standards and focus on preventative maintenance to provide a high level of equipment availability to our internal customers.
• Ensure sufficient technical coverage is available for the shifts they own by organizing and directing the training program for the team.
• Organize local projects or support AMET level projects as assigned by the manager.
• Demonstrate practical engineering experience including a supervisory role managing people.
• Have and experience of automated equipment including packaging machinery, sortation and conveyor systems.
• Have an experience of working to appropriate health & safety standards and regulations.
• Develop and implement vendor annual maintenance contracts AMCs with appropriate service levels for equipment.
• Manage a team of Maintenance Supervisors & Technician’s. Define goals, priorities, organized staff planning, staff training to ensure service levels.
• Ensure safe working environment, applying Amazon Safety Policy and working with the Safety team to improve safety on site.
A day in the life
• Daily Monitor and respond to RME customers requests through trouble ticketing system and always show customer obsession behavior.
• Ensure quality service received by annual maintenance contract vendor and verify that through raising any fail against the SLA (service level agreement)
About the team
The Site RME team is Managing whole Building engineering and facilities related day to day issues and projects as well, including soft services and Technical services (Base Building and MHE material handling equipment)
- 3+ years of facilities management experience
- 3+ years of data analysis in the facilities maintenance program, specifically in asset management and spare part optimization experience
- Knowledge of diverse MHS, industrial mechanical and electrical systems and automation, controls and robotics systems
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- In-depth understanding of facility maintenance and facility management systems, tools, and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial or automation engineering, or related field.
- Experience in material handling systems (MHS) installation, operation and maintenance
- Minimum 3 years in a similar role, with a solid understanding of facility operations and maintenance best practices.
