Role/Purpose of the job:
• To plan, organize, and manage all Finance and Accounting activities including general ledger, accounts receivable and payable, bank reconciliations, account maintenance (COA, journals, accruals and prepayments, payroll disbursements), regular financial reporting and financial statements and ensure compliance
Responsibilities:
• Develops Finance strategy, plan and budget based on strategic objectives and business plan.
• Reviews and approves chart of accounts(COA) , vendor/customer accounts and user access rights to ensure they are in line with company’s accounting requirements as per approved DOA.
• Ensures revenue is recognized accurately and as per Policies.
• Reviews Bad Debt Statement and reviews Accounts Receivable Reconciliation Summary.
• Reviews the aging analysis for receivables (trade and others) and payables and suggests further action.
• Ensures payment of invoices, balance confirmation, security deposits are recorded accurately.
• Reviews and approves payment voucher and manual receipt voucher.
• Reviews Accounts Payable Reconciliation Summary along with Financial Controller.
• Ensures recording of Accounts Payable/Liability is done accurately and as per Policies.
• Ensures fixed asset register is maintained and updated periodically to record and account for the company’s property and equipment.
• Initiates impairment testing on assets at the end of each financial year and submits the report for further review to CFO.
• Reviews statement of insurance coverage and obtains approval from relevant authorities as per DoA.
• Process payroll payment, approve full and final settlement calculation and ensures it is in accordance to UAE Labor Law and company policies.
• Ensures compliance with accounting policy for financial instruments.
• Identifies projects and contracts relating to properties held for sale and issues necessary instructions for maintaining trading properties account.
• Manage and review the monthly cash flow and make sure that sufficient cash is being held to accommodate projects payment and other commitment to suppliers.
• Communicate with banks to get the best rate of return in Fixed deposits, analyze and determine the durations.
• Manage the cash surplus and make sure no cash is being kept idle.
• Manage and review loan outstanding, repayment and interest rate payments.
• Responsible for preparation and presentation of periodical financial statements.
• Provides all stakeholders with accurate, reliable and timely financial and management reports.
• Supports CFO in maintaining, updating and controlling distribution of Finance Policies and Procedures Manual.
• Manages employees in the Finance department in performing their delegated tasks and nominate employees for appropriate training .
• Performs any other relevant task as directed by CFO and CEO.
Qualification:
• Masters or Bachelors in Financial Management or equivalent
• CA/CPA/ACCA will be added advantage
Relevant experience:
• 8-12 years of experience in Finance with at least 3 years relevant managerial experience
