POSITION SUMMARY

The Joinery Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost

estimates for bespoke joinery projects, including furniture, fit-out elements, and

custom woodwork.

This role requires strong technical knowledge of joinery production, materials, and

finishes, combined with the ability to interpret drawings, liaise with clients, and work

closely with the production team to ensure commercially viable pricing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Tendering & Estimation

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for FF&E production from architectural

drawings, specifications, and client requirements.

• Break down scope of works into labour, materials, subcontractor costs, and

overheads.

• Prepare BOQs (Bills of Quantities) and cost summaries.

Technical & Commercial Analysis

• Analyse project risks, constraints, and opportunities to ensure profitability.

• Source and evaluate prices from suppliers and subcontractors.

• Ensure all estimates comply with technical specifications and industry

standards.

Coordination & Communication

• Liaise with designers, and workshop teams to confirm technical feasibility

and production methods.

• Clarify client requirements and resolve discrepancies in drawings or

specifications before tender submission.

• Coordinate with suppliers.

Documentation & Handover

• Prepare and submit tender documents on time.

• Maintain accurate records of estimates, supplier quotes, and project

correspondence
